BMW Motocycle Insurance – Some Facts From The History Of BMW
Since the beginning of BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke AG) as a motorcucle manufacturer, there have been hundreds of different models produced both pre-war, and post war. 1921 was the beginning of BMW Bikes, with the R21, which could not have been as far from the original engineering practice BMW were used to – Aero Engines.
The well known BMW logo, or rondel as it is more commonly known today, is supposed to portray the movement of aircraft propellers – or that’s what BMW wanted everyone to think, 12 years after they finished production in the Aircraft Engine manufacturing.
If the truth be known, BMW stole the logo from a company they worked with in the early 20′s called Rapp Motorenwerke – and it was their company logo. So, what actually happened was that they combined the logo of Rapp Motorenwerke with the blue and white colours, and there you have the rondel which is still used to this present day.
